Schools of the Sacred Heart, San Francisco,Music Conservatory is seeking excellent candidates for the role of Music Conservatory Vocal Teacher. Lessons are offered after school to students in grades 4-12, on a 1 / 2 hour and hour basis.Hours are 3:30-6:00 pm one day per week. This could change based on demand.Candidates should be compelling educational practitioners who are confident in their capacity to create and deliver a dynamic, engaging and challenging curriculum. In addition to their teaching assignments, all teaching faculty are expected to contribute to the life of the school community in general. We hold that each person possesses a unique voice and vision and we work with individual students and our talented faculty to unleash each student's unique gifts in an atmosphere that embraces ambiguity and exploration. Our vision for our Music Conservatory program is to provide quality vocal instruction in a welcoming and enjoyable environment while promoting artistic growth, self-confidence and resiliency.To be considered candidates should submit a resume and cover letter displaying their qualifications in the following areas: Have a music degree preferably in voice performance or vocal pedagogy and /or vast vocal teaching experience, particularly to students in elementary, middle and/or high school. Knowledgeable about different approaches to healthy voice teaching as it relates to technique and genres, especially commercial music ( pop, musical theater etc.). Have a solid understanding of selecting and advising appropriate repertoire for the developing or young voice (pre-teen & teenage). Piano proficient with the ability to accompany songs for lessons and performances. Good communication skills in working with students and their parents. Must attend bi-annual recitals in the spring and winter to support student growth. Open to additionally supporting the repertoire needs of the student enrolled in the music program at Schools of the Sacred Heart. Interested candidates should submit a vocal teaching video. Previous teaching experience required, specifically with 4th -12th grade. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Energetic, driven, creative, and dependable. Demonstrates patience and leadership skills. Certifications or licenses in respective art form is a plus A Bachelor's Degree or higher is required.History of collegiality and collaboration with other teachers and administrators. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning profiles. Innovative, creative, and flexible teaching style. Understanding the developmental needs of students and how they learn best. Must be detail-oriented, organized and willing to take initiative. Must have excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work well with students and adults. Must be a role model and maintain a high level of professionalism.Experience with independent schools is strongly preferred.Physical Requirements include:Regularly lifting or carrying 1-20 lbs. Regular pushing/pulling/bending/stooping/kneeling. Regularly climbing stairs** Regularly sitting or standing 4-8 hours.
