Job DescriptionProcess Engineer / Senior Process Engineer - Thermoforming & Plastics ManufacturingLocation: Lansing, MI A leading manufacturer in the food and beverage packaging space is hiring Process Engineers and Senior Process Engineers to support and improve high-volume thermoforming and plastics manufacturing operations across multiple facilities. This is a hands-on role for engineers who enjoy owning equipment, solving real plant-floor problems, and leading projects from concept through full-scale production.What You'll DoLead moderate to large-scale engineering and capital projects, from concept through installation and commissioningTroubleshoot, optimize, and support thermoforming and plastics production equipment and processing linesDesign, improve, and document manufacturing processes, SOPs, test plans, and control strategiesSupport new product introductions, process scale-ups, and plant trialsDrive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, yield, and costPartner cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teamsServe as a technical owner for assigned equipment, processes, or product familiesWhat You BringProcess EngineerBachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience, or Associate's degree with 9+ years of manufacturing engineering experienceHands-on experience with production equipment, process troubleshooting, and data-driven improvementWorking knowledge of SPC, FMEA, DOE, Root Cause Analysis, 5S, 8DExperience in plastics manufacturing; thermoforming exposure strongly preferredSenior Process EngineerBachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience, or Associate's degree with 12+ years of manufacturing engineering experienceProven success leading complex equipment, CapEx, and process improvement initiativesStrong technical depth across manufacturing processes and quality methodologiesAbility to operate independently in a multi-site, high-visibility rolePreferred ExperienceDirect experience in thermoforming plastics manufacturing (thermoformed cup experience is a strong plus)Background in injection molding, print, or high-volume manufacturing environmentsLean Six Sigma Green or Black BeltExperience supporting new product introductionsFamiliarity with CAD and/or process simulation tools
