Packaging Operator

Job Title: Packaging Operator Job Location: Elk Grove Village, IL Job Duration: 09 Months on W2 Job Summary: The Packaging Operator is responsible for safely packaging and handling chemical products in a production environment. This role involves operating automated and manual packaging equipment, repacking and labeling products, completing production documentation in SAP, performing light maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The position requires adherence to safety and environmental standards and the ability to respond to emergency situations within training limits. Key Responsibilities: Safely package chemical products into totes, drums, and pails Repack and relabel chemical products Operate automated control systems and packaging equipment Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance Complete batch documentation and production reporting in SAP Maintain housekeeping and organized work areas Support additional tasks assigned by management Work rotating shifts and overtime as required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent 3+ years of experience in a chemical production environment Strong communication and basic math skills Experience operating forklifts and using hand tools Comfortable working with hazardous and flammable chemicals Ability to climb ladders/stairs, lift up to 55 lbs, connect hoses, operate manual valves, and wear FRC clothing and full-face respirator (clean-shaven) Preferred Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude Positive, flexible, and self-motivated attitude Proficiency in MS Office and experience with SAP systems
