Job Description

Position summary: Perform accounting duties to support the receipt and tracking of payments from customers.General Purpose: Assist the credit department in maintaining accounts receivable records, including preparing entries, posting, editing, checking, and tracking payments.Role qualifications:Must partner with credit and accounting staff members to ensure effective communicationsMust implement systems and controls to ensure compliance with our credit and accounting practices.Must have strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time.Position responsibilities:Will accurately post customer payments received in all formats: wire, ACH, credit cards, checks and petty cashManage daily receivables reports to ensure timely completionResearch and reconcile payment discrepanciesPost Journal Entries & A/R AdjustmentsReview, maintain and document customer "Remit" email correspondenceCommunicate with customers and internal departments to clarify payment details and resolve discrepanciesResearch and accurately set up new customers in databaseReview customer credit using CreditSafe and references to assign appropriate credit limitsMonthly GL Account ReconciliationsComplete various A/R reports for managementComplete Month-End closing responsibilities.Perform other duties or projects as assigned by Credit Manager or CFO.Essential skills and experience:Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience (2+ years).Strong attention to detail and organization skillsStrong analytical/problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize and multi-taskExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookCommitment to company vision and mission.Nonessential skills and experience:Awareness of lean business principlesSufficient knowledge of our various departments and their procedures.Physical demands and work environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
