Project Manager - HVAC / Plumbing / ProcessPosition OverviewThe Project Manager is responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships, leading the sales and execution of HVAC, plumbing, and process-related construction projects, and coordinating field operations in collaboration with site leadership. This role serves as the primary liaison between the company and its clients, ensuring successful delivery from early planning through final completion.This position requires strong business development capability, technical project oversight, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining financial performance, quality standards, and customer satisfaction.Primary ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & DeliveryAct as the central point of accountability for assigned projects, representing both the company and the customer throughout the project lifecycleManage projects from conceptual engineering and estimating through proposal development, contract execution, and final turnoverCoordinate labor planning and installation sequencing with customers and field supervisionLead project kickoff meetings and ongoing coordination sessions with internal teamsFinancial & Contract OversightDevelop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost control strategies to maintain project profitabilityOversee billing activities and ensure accurate job cost trackingPrepare and manage contracts, change orders, and formal documentation to support sound business practices and risk managementSupport procurement planning and execution strategiesClient & Stakeholder RelationsLead customer meetings and support contract development to secure and expand project opportunitiesBuild and maintain professional relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and industry partnersCoordinate cross-functional efforts with Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, and Service teams to meet project scope and schedulesCommunication & Internal CoordinationCollaborate regularly with management and department leadershipParticipate in project management, sales, and construction planning meetingsLeverage internal resources effectively to meet customer and project requirementsMentorship & Team DevelopmentProvide guidance and support to assigned team membersParticipate in recruiting, onboarding, training, and coaching of project and sales staffContribute to internal improvement initiatives, task groups, and technical development effortsAdditional DutiesPerform other responsibilities and special projects as assigned by leadershipQualificationsRequired5+ years of experience in HVAC project estimating, design, and/or project management for projects ranging from $50,000 to $25+ millionDemonstrated ability to generate new business and sustain long-term client relationshipsStrong organizational, communication, and multi-project management skillsAbility to operate independently with minimal supervisionHigh ethical standards and professional integrityProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)Valid Class C Driver's License and ability to travel to job sites and regional officesPreferredBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related disciplineExperience with construction and business systems such as JDE, IFS, BidTracer, FastEst, Bluebeam, Box, and SmartsheetActive participation in industry or community-based organizationsCore CompetenciesInitiative & OwnershipStrategic Thinking & Business AwarenessRelationship Building & InfluenceAnalytical Problem SolvingCollaboration & Team EngagementTechnical Curiosity & Continuous ImprovementResilience & AdaptabilityMotivation & Professional CommitmentWork Environment & Physical RequirementsRegularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and operating tools or devicesOccasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl during site visitsAbility to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionallyVision abilities include close and distance visionConsistent attendance and flexibility to support extended work hours when neededSchedule & TravelTypical Hours: Monday-Friday, with workdays beginning as early as 6:00 AM and extending up to 7:00 PM as business needs requireTravel: Local and regional travel to offices and job sites based on operational demandsCompensation StatementSalary Range: $121,019 - $161,359 annually Final compensation is based on job-related skills, experience, education, certifications, and location.
