Controller

Title: Controller Location: Houston, TX Duration: Direct Hire / Full-Time Compensation: $125-140K Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S. Skillset / Experience: The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of a growing manufacturing organization, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and strategic financial support to leadership. Key Responsibilities: Lead all accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll coordination, fixed assets, cost accounting, and revenue recognition Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; prepare timely and accurate financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain accuracy of financial records Supervise and support accounting staff Drive annual budgeting and forecasting processes; provide variance analysis and financial insights to leadership Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities to improve profitability Support strategic decision-making through financial modeling and analysis Oversee manufacturing and inventory accounting, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods Ensure accurate product costing, labor allocation, and overhead absorption Partner with operations to analyze production costs, variances, and efficiencies Manage banking relationships, cash flow forecasting, and working capital Coordinate tax filings and compliance with external advisors Support audits, lender reporting, and regulatory requirements Oversee corporate insurance programs and risk management Partner with HR on employee benefits financial administration Track R&D expenditures and support related tax credit opportunities Establish and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial workflows Enhance ERP systems and reporting tools to improve data integrity Support continuous improvement initiatives, including ISO 9001:2015 compliance Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred 5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manufacturing experience Experience in small to mid-sized companies with hands-on financial responsibility Strong knowledge of financial reporting, cost accounting, and inventory management Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with non-financial stakeholders  Information collected and processed through your application with INSPYR Solutions (including any job applications you choose to submit) is subject to INSPYR Solutions’ Privacy Policy and INSPYR Solutions’ AI and Automated Employment Decision Tool Policy: .
