Senior Quality EngineerOverview Join a dynamic aerospace team where you'll own quality for key programs and ensure every product meets the highest standards. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll lead quality initiatives, solve complex problems, and partner closely with engineering, operations, and leadership to drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities + Develop and maintain robust quality control processes that ensure consistent, reliable products. + Establish and uphold quality standards in alignment with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer requirements. + Conduct inspections and internal audits of materials, processes, and finished goods. + Lead structured problem-solving using RCA, 5 Whys, FMEA, and similar tools. + Drive CAPA initiatives to prevent recurrence of defects. + Design and manage process controls that reduce variation and improve output. + Use SPC and statistical tools to assess and optimize processes. + Partner with engineering on design-for-quality and manufacturability considerations. + Validate and qualify manufacturing processes for new and existing products. + Support continuous improvement across operations. + Review production metrics and recommend process enhancements. + Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and procedures. + Support internal/external audits and ensure timely responses to findings. + Train and support production teams on quality practices. + Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues and ensure alignment. Must-Have Skills + Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and aerospace quality systems. + Expert-level Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) abilities. + Hands-on experience with inspection tools and electronic/PCB quality principles. + Ability to assess product compliance to design and functional specs. Qualifications + Bachelor of Science degree. + 5+ years in aerospace quality engineering or electronic quality assurance. + IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist (current or former). + Experience with Net-Inspect, Exostar, OEM portals, and AS9102 FAI reports. + Background in inspection, testing, validation, certification, and quality software/statistical tools. + Familiarity with Lean (Kaizen, VSM, 5S). + Prior Delegated Quality Representative (DQR) experience is a plus. Work Environment Work in a fast-paced, collaborative aerospace environment alongside engineering, operations, supply chain, and leadership. Expect hands-on engagement with electro-mechanical hardware, quality systems tools, and continuous improvement initiatives in a highly regulated, high-performance setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chatsworth, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.10/hr.
