DescriptionPlease note: This position is contingent upon contract award. The anticipated award date is in the first quarter of 2027. To continue laying the groundwork and challenge what's possible for our business, we seek to partner with individuals ready to elevate their careers with us.What You'll Do:Leads strategic, high-complexity sourcing and procurement for programs by managing compliant supplier relationships, negotiating multi-million-dollar contracts, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders to balance cost, risk, schedule, and long-term operational outcomes.Key Responsibilities:Lead strategic sourcing and supplier management activities in support of shipbuilding and shipyard operations, with a strong focus on U.S. Government programs.Manage procurement efforts within a highly regulated, compliance-driven environment, ensuring alignment with requirements and government subcontracting standards.Identify, source, and oversee vendors that support complex, mission-critical programs, balancing performance, risk, cost, and schedule requirements.Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies for high-value supplier relationships, moving beyond transactional or maintenance-level purchasing.Establish and manage preferred vendor programs for large, distributed operations.Own the full supplier lifecycle, including RFP development, supplier evaluations, onboarding, performance management, and continuous improvement.Lead and negotiate multi-million-dollar supplier agreements, addressing pricing, commercial terms, risk allocation, and performance incentives.Partner closely with legal, finance, operations, engineering, program management, and government stakeholders to negotiate and execute complex contracts.Influence sourcing and procurement decisions at a strategic level, supporting large capital programs and long-term operational objectives.QualificationsEducation & Credentials:Bachelor's degree in business, transportation or related field; or a combination of post-high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.Experience:10 years relevant experience in material/logistics management preferably in shipbuilding.Experience in supply chain management, procurement, and logistics, preferably within a large-scale manufacturing, aerospace, or shipbuilding environment.Experience with configuration management of bill of materials.Experience with global logistics, including different shipping modes (ocean, air, truck), freight management, and customs regulations.Experience with subcontracts management in areas of negotiating and managing material issues.Experience with software for management of material.Technical Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.Other:Valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) credential is required.Also, subject to a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check to obtain your driving history.Competencies:Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external business partners. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to mentor, coach, train and supervise employees. Ability to prepare, monitor and administer budgets, as well as the ability to perform financial analysis. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Knowledge of purchasing, procurement, budgeting and administrative management.
