The primary responsibilities will be supporting the Senior Vice President & General Counsel in managing contract workflows across working groups, contract compliance, processing everyday contract documents including confidentiality agreements and amendments to work orders, maintaining data in the corporate contracts database, and carrying out ad hoc tasks in a fast-paced biotechnology company.The Contracts Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Clinical Operations, Business Development, Finance, and other key stakeholders. The position supports the legal department in maintaining corporate records, preparing legal documents, and managing corporate legal filings. Due to the nature of the work, this role routinely handles highly sensitive and confidential information.ResponsibilitiesImprove contract workflows through an organized and consistent prioritized approach to management of legal and contractual documents in support of the Senior Vice President and General CounselMaintain, modify, and store contracts and other transactional agreements such as supply and manufacturing agreements, services agreements, consulting agreements, sponsor research agreements, clinical trial agreements, data privacy agreements, collaborations, material transfer agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and other business documentsProtect confidential, company IP, privileged information, and company assets utilizing best contract management practicesProvide accurate and timely contracts processing and compliance support to internal business units and executivesManage and optimize the contract management system to ensure accurate tracking, storage, and easy retrieval of executed contracts and other legal documentsTrack negotiations in the contract management and repository systemsManage corporate approval, Docusign, and signature processesSchedule department meetings, print and bind presentations, draft memorandums, e-mails, letters, and other documents to ensure clarification of contract language or specifications relevant to the biotechnology industryEnsure documents and contracts meet high levels of quality and accuracyOther duties as assignedRequired Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field; Advanced legal training or certification (e.g., paralegal certificate) is a plus.A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in corporate contract management, contract compliance, or paralegal work, preferably including in-house contracts and/or legal experience within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries; experience in a regulated industry required.Familiarity with contract laws and regulations related to bio/pharmaceutical research, development, and commercializationDemonstrated experience in contracting processes, lifecycle, and administrationAbility to work on-site daily within a commutable distance to Beltsville, MarylandQualificationsProven experience managing multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously, while delivering high quality work within tight deadlines.Strong collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to support legal counsel while interacting in a cross collaborative, matrix environmentA flexible and adaptive self-starter with motivation and ability to take initiativeAbility to tactfully but successfully engage colleagues to embrace contracting processAbility to prioritize and coordinate contract practices in a fast-paced business environmentWillingness and ability to perform administrative, coordination, and ad-hoc tasks in a small business environment Must have high integrity, ability to assess risk, make decisions and think organizationally while applying knowledge of applicable contract issues Proficient in MS Office applications including PowerPoint; prior experience with a corporate contracts management system Salary Range & Benefits$80,000 - $145,000NextCure offers comprehensive benefits including Medical, Vision, and Dental coverage, Retirement Plan Matching, FSA and DCA Accounts, Employer Sponsored Long & Short-term Disability Plans and Paid Time Off.NextCure is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
