Job Description

The Museum Experiences Sales Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and orchestrating a proactive sales program to meet or exceed revenue goals across all earned income streams. These include admissions, facility rentals, exhibit rentals, field trips, and other revenue-generating opportunities. The Museum Experiences Sales Manager drives new business development, leads sales initiatives, engages in community relationship building, manages the Marketing and Sales Coordinator to ensure financial transactions are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner, and ensures best-in-class customer engagement to grow the Museum's reach and sales performance.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCandidate will spend approximately 70% of working hours on remote field work, including but not limited to site visits to prospects, active networking at community events and meetings, hosting events such as open houses and networking gatherings at Museum for prospects.Develop, implement, and orchestrate a proactive sales program to meet or exceed revenue goals across all earned income streams. These include admissions, facility rentals, exhibit rentals, field trips, and other revenue-generating opportunitiesIdentify target audiences for specific revenue opportunities, compile and maintain a "book of business": databases of target organizations/businesses within Museum territory, prospects, and contacts for proactive outreach and relationship buildingDevelop and manage annual departmental goals, KPIs, and sales projections while managing associated budget expenses.Partner with Marketing to ensure sales initiatives are fully supported by sales materials, promotional efforts, and Museum communicationsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNoneADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in related fieldFive+ years of professional sales experienceMinimum of 3 years in a leadership or supervisory roleDemonstrated success in sales strategy development and revenue generationProven track record of reversing declining sales or attendance trends and rebuilding growth within a compressed timeframeExperience developing high-impact, cash-positive sales initiatives that drive rapid revenue gains while maintaining mission alignmentExperience selling or promoting interactive, experiential, or time bound offers, with emphasis on articulating value and elevating perceived worthDemonstrated success using data to identify declining segments, uncover new opportunities, and implement rapid-cycle experiments to improve conversionKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to pivot strategies quickly in response to dynamic market conditions such as inflation, tourism variability, and changing family behavior patternsExcellent verbal and written communication, public speaking, presentation, negotiation, and networking skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office suiteDemonstrated high degree of initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently as well as collaborativelyStrong service-orientation and interpersonal skills to work effectively with prospective customers, partners, and museum staffAbility to analyze attendance, sales, and visitor behavior data to uncover actionable insights and quickly implement corrective strategiesSkill in designing and selling premium, immersive, or limited time experiences to increase urgency, demand, and perceived valueComfort with rapid testing, iteration, and refinement of sales approachesStrong understanding of current trends in family attractions, children's museums, and experiential entertainment sectorsDemonstrated ability to form revenue boosting partnerships that increase reach and drive new visitation quicklyADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSValid driver's license, own vehicle and good driving recordFlexibility with work schedule, as necessary, to support weekend scheduling and/or evening activitiesWORKING CONDITIONSCustomary office-related activities: standing, walking, sitting, bendingPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSModerate lifting (up to 15 pounds)BENEFITS Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife Insurance DisabilityPaid Time Off 401(k) with employer matchEmployee Assistance ProgramMuseum MembershipAccident InsuranceCritical Illness InsurancePet Insurance
