MAU is hiring a Controls Engineer for our client in Piedmont, SC. As a Controls Engineer, you will provide hands-on technical support, design and optimize automation systems, and lead process improvements to enhance efficiency, uptime, and product quality. This is a direct-hire opportunity. Benefits Package * 401k * Health insurance * Dental insurance * Vision insurance Shift Information * May require weekend work on occasion or support from home if weekend shift is working Required Education and Experience * 2+ years of experience in programming and integrating Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex) Preferred Education and Experience * Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering * A combination of education and significant relevant work experience (10+ years) may be considered in lieu of a degree General Requirements * Proficiency in reading AutoCAD drawings and system schematics * Strong project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment * Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, sensors, actuators, and automation control principles * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and influence others across departments Essential Functions * Exhibit a fair and consistent management approach following the principles outlined in the client's employee charter * Identify growth, developmental opportunities, and ongoing training needs of personnel * Follow company policies and display conduct as described in the employee handbook * Support and promote company policies and business objectives in daily operations * Meet and maintain all customer quality standards and internal standards * Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for automation equipment, including robots * Design, program, and optimize vision systems, PLCs, and associated HMIs * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, install, and commission automation equipment and systems * Lead or support capital projects related to automation and robotics, including vendor evaluation, specification development, and implementation * Coordinate and deliver training to operations and maintenance personnel on automation systems and safety integration * Manage and execute engineering changes and process improvements to reduce downtime and increase productivity * Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency * Develop and maintain preventive maintenance standards for automation equipment * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to identify cost-saving opportunities and process innovations * Prepare progress and project status reports to communicate milestones, risks, and performance metrics * Perform other engineering-related duties as assigned Physical Demands * Ability to stand or walk for up to eight (8) hours per day * Ability to sit for up to eight (8) hours per day * Ability to lift up to 10 pounds on an infrequent basis * Good close vision required * Ability to perform repetitive motion at, above, and below shoulder height for up to six (6) hours per day
