Position Overview: Under general supervision, the Automotive Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance to county-owned vehicles and equipment, as assigned in accordance with Harris County Fleet Services and OEM standards. Job Duties: * Perform required Vehicle Maintenance and thorough inspection of all Vehicle Systems, including Engine, Brakes, Steering, Suspension, A/C, and Electrical * Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform high quality and efficient repairs with a "fix it right the first time" approach * Perform Quality Control Inspections on Vendor repaired Vehicles to ensure repairs are completed * Create Estimates and communicate directly and effectively with Service Coordinators and Parts Department * Use OEM scan tools and Fleet software. * Help at various shops based on workload. * Must be able to work in hot and cold conditions and in tight places * Must be able to lift and/or move 50lbs. * Must help Maintain excellent customer satisfaction. * Perform any additional task assigned by management. Requirements Education: * High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited educational institution. Experience: * Minimum of 1 year Dealership or Automotive Shop Repair Experience with a positive and flexible attitude. Automotive Technology education may be considered for experience. Licensure: * Must maintain a valid Texas Driver's License at all times.
