Bartell Hotels is an equal opportunity employer.Primary Objective of Maintenance Tech I PositionTo maintain the hotel's customer and heart of house areas in accordance with the standards of Bartell Hotels by performing preventative maintenance and repairs as necessaryResponsibilitiesResponds to both customer and hotel a staff report of non-functioning equipment immediatelyMaintains problem logbook to record the equipment in need of repair and priorities efforts accordingly Maintains rooms in optimal operating condition by performing repairs as neededUnderstands the Room Preventative Maintenance Program (R.P.M.)Prepares preventative maintenance cart for use each dayRepairs televisions, phones, clock radios, etc.Replaces or repairs damaged bathroom fixtures and executes general plumbing as neededMaintains the overall appearance of the room; replaces broken mirrors, hangs fixtures, does touch-up painting, etc. Repairs and maintains room's heating/ventilating/air conditioning systemsUses both power and hand tools regularly in a safe, efficient mannerPerforms preventative maintenance throughout other areas of the hotel as well, including both the front and heart of house, interior and exteriorMaintains the condition of hotel lobbies and restaurantsRepairs furniture and decorations as necessaryRepairs carpet, marble, and tileRepairs and maintains kitchen and laundry/housekeeping equipmentRepairs/replaces windows and mirrorsMaintains exterior of building and grounds as necessaryAttends schools or seminars to remain current on proper techniquesMaintains operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairsDemonstrates familiarity with the hotel's life safety systems and takes corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems which affect the security or operating condition of the hotelHandles master set of keys in accordance with our standards for the overall security of the hotelReports any hazards or injuries in the department or hotel and takes immediate action to correctMaintains and assists in the cleanliness of individual work areaOther duties may be assigned as neededPhysical Demands & Work Environment While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee must also be able to go up and down a flight of stairs while carrying 100 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and the noise level is usually moderate to loud
