Job Family ADMIN - Professional Exempt Non-Contractual Grade 14 Salary $55,636 - $69,545 Department New Student Center Reports To Director of New Student Center Closing Date June 11, 2026 FLSA Status Exempt - Not Eligible for Overtime Compensation First Review Date March 31, 2026 Position Overview The College Readiness Specialist assists in developing, implementing, and integrating all aspects of comprehensive Campus recruitment and enrollment management plan, to include industry/community recruitment activities. The position also supports outreach, Pre-College readiness enrichment programs and orientations. What you will be doing Provides advisement and registration assistance to First-time-in-College students and assists with the development and implementation of new student orientations and the student pre-screening process Communicates with assigned caseloads systematically through emails, customer relations management software campaigns, face-to-face meetings, etc. Assists the Director of Recruitment with the development and implementation of the Campus recruitment plan, including the communication and marketing strategies of the plan Coordinates and plans strategic, high impact, high quality, large-scale recruitment and outreach events, including but not limited to Open Houses, College Signing Day, College Fairs, Expos, and Parent/FASFA nights Serves on the Pre-College Advising (PCA) team for high school recruitment as well as for the recruitment of post-traditional and industry prospective students Assists with prompting and fostering good relations with Miami Dade College partners and cultivates relationships with new partners Organizes and attends outreach efforts to promote Miami Dade College by working with partners Supervises part-time clerks, student assistants, and orientation leaders/ambassadors Serves as the primary contact for community outreach and initiatives Coordinates and provides oversight for the summer bridge program for graduating high school students entering college Prepares and distributes information and correspondence about Miami Dade College programs Performs other duties as assigned What you need to succeed Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Education, or related field and one (1) year of related experience; or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, and Education, or related field and five (5) years of related experience All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures Knowledge of academic advising and career development principles and practices, residency and financial aid regulations Experience advising students in higher education setting Ability to work collaboratively and independently while taking initiative to create opportunities for recruitment and advising Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to work effectively with a wide range of constituents and to provide high quality support and customer service constituencies in a diverse community Ability to apply ethics, logic and critical thinking to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to make evidence-based recommendations using relevant data Knowledge of Microsoft office software and specific computer programs related to area of responsibility Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments and ability to travel throughout Miami Dade County Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff Additional Requirements The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.EQUAL ACCESS/EQUAL OPPORTUNITY Miami Dade College is an equal access/equal opportunity institution which does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, marital status, age, religion, national origin, disability, veteran's status, ethnicity, pregnancy, sexual orientation or genetic information.
