Sr. Drafter

JOB DESCRIPTIONThis position designs components for drilling equipment and other mechanical systems. Familiarity w/ Offshore Mobile Jack-Up Rig Design. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor, Material Specifications, Welding, Scantlings, etc. You are to successfully support the Design and Construction of Mobile Offshore Drilling Units by checking design drawings to insure all information is correct prior to being released to our customer, plus design drafting duties when required. You will work in direct support of an Engineer at the direction of the drafting supervisorJOB REQUIREMENTSRoles and Responsibilities:Specifies components.Generates Bills of MaterialsDocuments the project with "as built" drawings, as requiredProvides technical support for fabrication and assembly as neededAssists Drafters in developing the design of productsPrepares and carries out original or adaptations to designs and design changesPrepares sketches and completes detail and layout drawingsMakes layouts and details of componentsMay prepare supporting documentationTrains or coaches employeesPromptly reports issues to managementProficient in Autodesk InventorProficient with using Autodesk VaultQualifications and Education Requirements:Associate's degree (A.A.) in Computer Aided Drafting, or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school and a minimum of seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to use 2D/3D CAD software requiredAbility to create schematics, bills of material, specifications, customer and manufacturing documentationPreferred Skills:Ability to use MRP systems preferredExcellent communication with people at all levels of the organizationStrong organizational and multi-tasking skillsExcellent attention to detailAuthority:Add models and drawings to VaultAdd or modify Material Masters in SAPModify/revise drawings as required in AutoCAD and/or InventorAccess engineering documentation on the network as specified by the supervisorBUSINESS UNITSeatrium Limited
