Career Strategy Consultants is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity with a leading U.S. manufacturer near Dallas, TX. This position focuses on designing and optimizing systems that improve productivity, quality, and safety in a continuous manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is both analytical and hands-on, with strong experience in control system design, process automation, and cross-functional project leadership. This is an on-site role and will report directly to the department manager.Key Responsibilities: Solve complex, highly technical problems related to automation and production efficiency. Improve and maintain new and existing control processes, optimizing for throughput and quality. Eliminate waste of time, materials, energy, and other non-value-added resources. Create documentation such as work instructions, control plans, and process flow/failure analyses. Troubleshoot and support both new and legacy equipment. Lead cross-functional teams in achieving process improvement and automation goals. Develop and implement control systems that enhance safety, quality, and productivity. Guide technical staff during equipment repair and system upgrades. Ensure all safety and electrical standards are met and maintained. Perform additional related duties as assigned.Required Skills & Experience: Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset. Experience in a continuous manufacturing environment (extrusion experience preferred). Project management and technical planning abilities. Familiarity with AC/DC electrical systems (up to 480 volts). Proficient with: Allen Bradley PLCs RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000 FactoryTalk View Studio Ethernet/IP networking AC drives and motor controls Experience with AutoCAD Electrical a plus. Knowledge of NFPA 70E and industrial safety standards preferred.Education & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field preferred. 5+ years' experience in industrial engineering, maintenance, or controls. Candidates without a degree may be considered with 10+ years of relevant experience, including time in an engineering role.
