Controller

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a Controller to support our finance department. Responsibilities include: * Collaborating with the Finance Director to oversee the daily operations of accounting such as but not limited to staff accountants, accounts payable, and accounts receivable * Assisting with annual business plan and leading annual budget * Managing and maintaining accounting and banking relationships * Leading financial audits * Providing leadership/supervision to direct reports and prioritizing workloads * Verifying journal entries, month end close, and FAR compliance procedures * Reviewing monthly financial statement preparation, complete analysis, and provide financial support to management * Coordinating local and state tax reporting and notices * Administering accounting system operations * Leading ongoing improvement and refinement and maintaining strong internal controls * Conducting financial planning activities, preparing cash forecasts, and analyzing budgets * Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations The successful candidate will have: * A bachelor's degree (or higher) in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university AND at least ten (10) years of relevant experience The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: * Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) * Accounting and banking relationships * Annual budget and business plan * Supervising and mentoring staff * General ledger analysis, month end close outs, financial data analysis * Software conversions and updates * Corporate, state, local taxes and financial audits * Accounting software (Deltek Vision, Dynamics) The ideal candidate will also be a certified public accountant.
