Job Description: Bellarmine University Athletics is searching for an Assistant Athletic Trainer.Will report to the Associate Athletic Director for Student Athlete Wellness/Head Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible for:On-site care of Student-Athlete injuries/illnesses, including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuriesCoordinate and implement prevention programs and strategies in conjunction with the Strength and Conditioning staffElectronic documentation of all patient encounters through injury tracking EMRCommunicate with Team Physicians, other allied health professions, and coaching staff regarding injury status and treatment plan of Student-AthletesAssist in the day-to-day operations of the athletic training room. Ensure that student-athletes use equipment and facilities properly, including adherence to Athletic Training Room time schedules and proper operating proceduresProvide daily medical care for assigned student-athletes per the Athletic Training Department standard operating proceduresAssist with filing and resolving issues concerning secondary insurancePerform administrative and other duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Student Athlete Wellness/Head Athletic TrainerVisa sponsorship is not provided for this position.Requirements: Requirements:Evaluation, Treatment, and Rehabilitation of Student-Athlete injuriesWork with Sports Medicine team to design and implement pre- and post-injury programsTravel with athletic teams as assigned and directedCritical thinking and independent decision making regarding the assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and return to play decisions per state licensure guidelinesOrganize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks with little or no supervision.Communicate effectively in high-stress/pressure situations when talking to patients, medical professionals, coaches, staff, and families.Ability to lift 80 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objectsAbility to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysQualificationsBOC CertificationMaster's degree from a professional athletic training education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE)Eligible for KY Medical State LicenseCurrent Fist Aid and CPR/AED certificationKnowledge of NCAA rules and regulationsStrong verbal and written communication skillsApplication Instructions: Please submit a cover letter, resume, and contact information for three professional references.
