The Engineer is a contributing member of the Engineering Team by supporting the Administrative, Production, and Sales Teams of Groundworks through helping drive revenue, reduce costs, and improve quality through our aligned culture. Job Responsibilities Engineering review, oversight, and production of permit submission packagesCollaborate with other engineers and drafting team to organize, prepare, and review permit submission packagesInteract with Certified Field Inspectors for development of work scopePerform site visits to local projects for Engineering Evaluation of structures for the more difficult and complex and commercial projects with preparation of limited reports and repair designs as neededInteract with Production Crews for resolution of construction issues due to unforeseen site condition, confirm as-built documentation for successful documentation.Interpret regional or local building code requirementsCommunicate with building and municipal officials regarding ongoing and completed projectsComplete continuing education for maintaining professional licensingDevelop and deliver training presentations to Admin, Production, and Sales teams as necessary, in person and/or remotelyOther duties as assignedQualifications PE Required in SCPreferred location: Spartanburg, SC areaBS Engineering, MS Preferred5+ years' experience in structural or geotechnical design for commercial, residential and mixed-use projectsComputer skills (advanced): Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat (or equivalent)Meeting and group facilitationStatistical analysis of incident dataDesign and detailing competence with wood, concrete, and steel structuresSolid working knowledge of building codes, gravity, and lateral systems desirableConstruction observation experience a plusExperience with preparation and interpretation of detailed engineering studies and analysis reportsExcellent communication, organization, multi-tasking, and strong team skills a mustAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, meet project schedules and maintain quality standardsMust be able to lift 20 to 30 pounds infrequentlyOccasionally enter crawl spaces or otherwise tight spaces for inspection purposesValid Driver's LicenseWork EnvironmentFull-timeTravel is typically limited to your region, however this position could require 15% or more of overnight travel (company vehicle provided)Hybrid working schedule with 3+ days in office each weekWhat we provide for our employees Competitive base compensation with lucrative bonus potentialEquity ownership in the nation's largest and fastest growing foundation repair and water management companyThe best-in-class training programsAdvanced leadership training opportunitiesBenefits include Medical, Dental, Optical, Long/Short Term Disability, Life insurance, 401(k) with a company match after applicable waiting periodsPaid time off including 6 holidays after applicable waiting periodGroundworks® is the leading provider of Foundation Repair, Crawl Space Encapsulation, Basement Waterproofing, and Concrete Lifting & Stabilization.
