This position is responsible for managing the operations of exercise facility within the community. Responsibilities include fiscal accountability, member assistance, staff supervision and training, maintenance and procurement of equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES * Staff development by monitoring all employees and continually training and evaluating their performance so that they can strive to keep the homeowners active and interested in fitness. Also trains all of the Fitness Staff to help improve and develop stronger sales and customer service skills and oversees the entire fitness operations including the planning and scheduling of all fitness classes. * Develops safe, professional, exciting and comprehensive programs to ensure clients are satisfied with their workout programs and remain motivated to attain their personal fitness goals. Educates members on current health and fitness issues and trends. Works with employees on new ideas and promotions for the homeowners. * Work with members to ensure appropriate use of equipment to prevent injury. Demonstrates and then monitors use; providing assistance when asked and ensures safety. Will perform periodic check on equipment to determine if maintenance or repairs are necessary. Monitors overall use of facility and provides assistance when asked. Monitors all conditions in and around fitness center (repair, maintenance, cleanliness) which may include pools, equipment, offices, floors, building, etc.) * Develops an annual budget for programs and events with the HOA Manager/Director of Recreation; communicates with various departments to monitor budget based on the HOA requirements. Requirements * Minimum of five years previous experience in Fitness related industry * Bachelor degree in Physical Fitness field or equivalent of 2-4 years experience. * CPR Certified * Nutrition Knowledge * Working knowledge of senior fitness programs * PC Basics - including MS word, excel, email.
