Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Nucleus is seeking Staff Accountant who's excited to roll up their sleeves, own processes, and help build a best-in-class accounting foundation. This is not a "just post the journal entries" role. You'll be a core part of our monthly close, help improve systems and processes, and gain exposure across the business. What You Will Do Perform balance sheet reconciliations and keep supporting schedules clean and audit-readyHandle key procedural elements of the accounts payable process, including entering invoices into the accounts payable system, obtaining proper approvals, establishing proper GL coding, and triggering disbursementsOnboard new vendors, request and store Form W-9s, and process Form 1099sSupport revenue recognition (SaaS / ASC 606 exposure is a plus)Assist with customer invoicing and billing processesAssist with annual GAAP financial statement audits, tax return preparation, and any other outside examinations, as needed, including preparing and sending data requestsContinuously look for ways to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.Expectations of Your Experience Required Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience in public accounting or at a tech/startup environmentSolid understanding of U.S. GAAPExperience supporting month-end closeStrong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, comfort with large datasets)Self-starter who's comfortable with some ambiguityPreferred Qualifications: Experience with corporate card & expense management platformsExperience with accounting/ERP platformsExperience in a SaaS or subscription-based businessExposure to billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable processesWhy You Should Be Excited 100% company-paid health, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance optionsGenerous 401k contribution (not a match)Flexible PTO + 10 company holidaysFantastic company cultureWork on a truly unique, market- defining productSalary Range: $55,000 - $70,000 Additional Information At Nucleus we are committed to achieving excellence in our field by combining diversity, collaboration, teamwork, and pride in our work.
