POSITION SUMMARY Assist the Maintenance Manager through hands-on supervision and management of maintenance operations and grounds for a three-shift textile production mill. Direct, train, develop, and evaluate Bargaining Unit maintenance employees, including providing input regarding employment status. Ensure maintenance operations support safe, efficient, and reliable production while maintaining compliance with company policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs) Preventive Maintenance (PM) Compliance: ≥ 95% on-time completionUnplanned Downtime Reduction: Year-over-year reduction in unplanned downtime hoursSafety & Compliance Performance: Zero preventable safety incidentsWork Order Execution & Communication: ≥ 98% accurate and timely work order closureESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB Promote a safe working environment by training and supervising employees in safe work practices and correcting unsafe conditionsAssess, coach, and develop technical skills across the maintenance team using formal and hands-on training methodsEnsure security and protection of company property through inspection and maintenance of sprinkler systems and fire protection equipmentInspect buildings, infrastructure, and equipment for needed repairs and supervise maintenance workEnsure proper functioning of heating and cooling systems by inspecting and supervising repairs and adjustmentsEnsure adequate steam supply through supervision of boiler operationsControl maintenance costs by planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and monitoring work projects to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timelinessReduce downtime through effective preventive maintenance programs and timely equipment repairsMaintain and execute CMMS procedures, prioritizing and closing work orders by urgency and deadlinesCommunicate all Production-Stopped or Safety-Danger work orders not completed by end of shift verbally and within the CMMS prior to end of dayCoordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with the Maintenance Manager and Production leadershipAnalyze equipment and facility issues, determine root causes, and prepare corrective or preventive action reports as neededDevelop, update, and maintain work instructions and standard operating proceduresAdminister the Collective Bargaining Agreement, company policies, and work rules consistently and fairlySchedule and manage people, processes, and projects using LEAN principlesAnticipate a 40-50 hour work week with after-hours and weekend availability as requiredPerform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulationsPerform other duties as assignedCORE EXPECTATIONS Demonstrated leadership ability and mechanical and electrical aptitudeAbility to analyze problems, determine root causes, and implement effective solutionsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-shift environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsResults-oriented with a focus on accountability and follow-throughBEHAVIORAL Acts with integrity, professionalism, and consistencyMaintains composure and sound judgment under pressureDemonstrates accountability for decisions and outcomesWorks collaboratively across departments and shiftsDetail-oriented with a disciplined, systems-focused approachQUALIFICATIONS Experience in a textile manufacturing or continuous-process production environmentHands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting boiler operationsExperience working within an ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent Quality Management SystemDemonstrated application of LEAN principles in maintenance or operationsTechnical certifications, vocational training, or equivalent advanced maintenance trainingEquivalent combinations of education and experience will be consideredSYSTEM QUALIFICATIONSExperience working with ERP and CMMS systemsProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointExperience with manufacturing Quality Management SystemsFamiliarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project)Working knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or SolidWorks) preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENTAbility to stand, walk, bend, climb, and move throughout the production millAbility to lift and carry up to 75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodationWork performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, dust, chemicals, heat, and steamRequired to comply with OSHA safety regulations and company safety programs, including lockout/tagout and hazard communicationRequired use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing, eye, hand protection, and steel-toed footwearSufficient visual acuity and manual dexterity to inspect equipment, read gauges and documentation, and perform maintenance tasksMon-Fri 7:00 am-3:30 pm OT as needed
