The position is full-time, exempt and is located at the Leawood campus at 13720 Roe Ave. Please see below for a full job description.Job Summary The Mission Ministries Lead Director is the church's highest level strategic leader when it comes to steering overall strategy and implementation for missions engagement as a pathway for discipleship through collections, entry level mobilization, local and global community-based service opportunities, as well as a variety of justice initiatives including but not limited to educational opportunities. These engagement strategies are designed to ensure that every member and regular guest at Resurrection takes steps to grow in their faith through service beyond the walls of the church to the extent that Kansas City as well as the communities within our international partnerships are transformed to better reflect the Kingdom of God. As a member of the M&P Lead Director Team, the Lead Director of Missions will partner with the Executive Team, Location Pastors and Ministries and Program Leads to create frictionless engagement for all of our members and guests to get involved in missions and outreach in a way that leads towards deeper discipleship and seeks to close the opportunity gap as well as the justice and kindness gap here in Kansas City and beyond. This person supervises the staff teams in the Missions Division (both global and local) across all locations and provides direction for churchwide programs and ministries under the direction of these staff members.Essential Responsibilities and Expectations: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Position-Specific Develop and strengthen the church's programs for mission, service and outreach across all locations with the goal that every Resurrection member is actively engaged in growing in the Christian life through the essential practice of service.Ensure that the church is utilizing its people and resources across locations to have the maximum impact in both engaging its members and guests with missions' experiences and opportunities as well as in transforming the communities we're serving through our missions' programs.Collaborate with Lead Ministry Directors and Location Pastors to develop coordinated engagement strategies and programs to maximize efficiency and create highest level of impact within our church and community. Regularly participate in ministries under the direction across locations. Meet regularly with their staff to promote effective communication and direction.Lead Missions staff in effectively planning for location specific program budgets and staffing needs, including balancing both spending and staffing requirements with the need to ensure that each program area is an effective steward of the personnel and financial resources at its disposal.Hold ministries and programs for missions accountable to key metrics and benchmarks that not only track activity but ultimately yield quantitative growth in the engagement and participation of all our members. Develop and initiate new ministries, programs and partnerships to meet the needs, fulfill the potential, and accomplish the vision of the Church of the Resurrection. This will include recommendations to the Executive Team and Staff/Parish Committee on new personnel as needed.Manage, mentor and provide direction to the staff in the division. This includes ministry assessment and performance evaluation, strategic planning and goal setting, mentoring and spiritual direction, encouragement, pastoral care, support and conflict resolution. Qualifications Seven or more years of demonstrated success in management and leadership, with at least three years in management. Has an advanced and articulate understanding of the theology of Christian discipleship and can interpret this into stage-appropriate learning objectives for various aspects of serving in missions that promote deeper commitment levels over time on our journey in faith.Bachelor's degree in a related field; a Masters of Divinity or Masters of Theology is preferred but not required.Proven Results in growing churchwide missions programs and developing systems of outreach that will engage a diverse congregation in spiritual formation with clear entry points and pathways that lead them toward becoming deeply committed.
