Art Handler

The essential duties of this role are to work on and off site delivering / collecting, handling, installing and packing art works. We are looking for skilled Art Handlers and Art Installers.Key Responsibilities for an Art Handler are the following: Collections and deliveries on a daily basis, locally and interstate as neededHandle and control all paperwork when on site or working in the field, including all condition reporting for goodsEnsure vehicle used is always safe, clean and prepared for the day or trip as required, verify what goods are needed at the start of every day or trip based on the daily trip sheet or trip manifestEnsure all modifications to daily trip manifest are reported and verified by the Dispatch Manager prior to making any modificationsProper handling, of art objects, fragile and artistic material, antique and fine furnitureAssist with installation projectsPreparation of condition checks and condition reports as neededPack artworks, antiquities and fine furniture for transportation and storageTraining lower grade art handlers when requiredAssist in the loading and unloading of trucksEnsure a high degree of detail and focus on every jobSkills, Knowledge, and Expertise we look for include: High school diploma / GED requiredThree years of experience in the art handling industry; packing, handling and installing on a local and interstate basisThree years of logistical, warehousing and moving experienceUnderstanding of inventory processes and the ability to learn how to improve on handling art and antiquities from collection through to installation Excellent problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with OSHA regulationsExcellent organizational and time management skillsImpeccable communication and multitasking skillsAbility to accurately execute detailed paperwork and condition reportingTeam player, able to work with all levels of staff in a dynamic environmentComfortable in a results-driven workplaceExperience with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, jbars, dollies and other necessary logistics equipmentAbility to safely lift 70 pounds and maneuver objects of substantial size and weight on a daily basis without damage to object or person, including the ability to push and pull 150 pounds on a dolly or cartAbility to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and reach overhead
