Field Sampling Technician I

MPL Laboratories/EMSL Analytical, Inc., one of the largest environmental testing firms in the United States is currently seeking a full-time Field Sampling Technician I for its location in Sparta, NJ. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Position will be supported by the Cinnaminson, NJ lab with daily operations based out of the Sparta, NJ lab All training will be conducted to meet requirements of the NJ Field Sampling Procedures Manual at the Cinnaminson location or in the field Provide sample collection services to various clients. Samples include but are not limited to FDA Detention, Well-water, legionella, and environmental chemistryProvide technical support to clients when neededComplete all assigned routesFurnish sample containers to various clientsPerform miscellaneous on-site testing when required and record all dataAdhere to the company handbook and health and safety policiesMaintain a written log of daily activityDrive in a safe manor and observe all traffic lawsMonitor and maintain proper vehicle maintenance and cleanlinessObserve all OSHA and client site-specific safety requirementsPerform other duties and tasks as assigned by company including reassignment to another task or departmentDo not enter any confined space without direct approval from upper managementFill out and submit all required sample chain of custody and sample collection reports required in each disciplineMust be able to lift equipment in and out of vehicle that could weigh 50 pounds or moreAdditional movement of sample between our Northern and Southern laboratories as neededRequirements:High School Diploma or equivalent.Prior knowledge of field sampling and/or laboratory experience is preferredMust be willing and able to travel via car to various client sites throughout the Tri-State Area Must have ability to lift up to 50 poundsMust have a valid driver's license and clean driving recordMust be good with directions/using GPSMust be organized and be able to prioritize tasks/deliveriesMust have excellent communication skills and good attitude; candidate will have daily interaction with the company's clientsMust be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesMust have a good understanding of client confidentialityDriver Abstract Check RequiredAvailable Shift:Position is full time, Tuesday to Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Training to start Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Sparta, NJ are encouraged to apply.
