Integrity, Inspiration, Quality and Teamwork!Job DescriptionThe Mechanical Project Engineer is a hands-on individual with the maturity and experience to drive engineering projects from start to finish. This position requires good technical, organizational and communication skills to develop material handling systems. An ideal candidate will have previous mechanical design experience broadened by recent system projects in the material handling industry. The Mechanical Project Engineer reports directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager. In addition, he/she will work closely with Sales, Project Management, Purchasing and installation personnel on a daily basis.Primary Responsibilities:Assist Sales in the creation of equipment proposals by providing engineering analysis and design expertise.Assist Project Managers with system commissioning and field support.Evaluate and understands project requirements to plan execution of components design and select system components.Evaluate manufacturing feasibility, estimate cost, and assess maintenance requirements of a variety of material handling systems.Design systems layout and specific components on 2D and 3D CAD equipment and software Our products could include steel structures, sheet metal parts, mechanisms and other Beumer products. Optimize for cost, functionality and manufacturabilityWrite specifications, user's manuals, and enter other data to fully document engineering designs.Coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication. Assist procurement with parts ordering and supplier selection.Ability to coordinate the efforts between different fields of engineering, purchasing, project management and site integrationMaintain accurate records and prepare a variety of meeting notes, letters and technical reports that are clear and conciseAbility to successfully define technical scope of work for the purchase of sub-systems or componentsAbility to make technical decisions for optimum end resultsAbility to present technical solutions for both internal and external stake holdersBe able to take lead on multiple logistic projects at the same time.Be able to lead project worth up to 30 mil. USDCompensation Range: 102,000-112,000 Annually The posted salary range reflects the compensation the company reasonably expects to offer for this position. Actual compensation will not be less than the posted minimum and will be based on multiple factors.QualificationsRequirements / Skills / Abilities:A Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering and related field or equivalent experience6 to 10 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing and project engineering settings. Preferred experience in design of automated machines and material handling capital equipmentPrefers a broad background in various machine technologies (control, pneumatic, hydraulic)Proficient in 2D and 3D modeling CAD design programsAbility to analyze and design basic mechanical components by applying knowledge of mechanical engineeringAbility to specify mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic componentsGood knowledge of drafting, dimensioning, tolerancing and manufacturing processesExcellence in time management; attention to detail and the ability to learn quicklyExcellence in communication (both verbal and written)Professional, positive, and have an energetic attitude-excellent interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, trustworthy, and respectful of othersAbility to travel both domestically and internationally as needed, up to 20%.
