Job Description

You'll serve as the organizational backbone of our engineering organization at Jove. As Engineering Project Manager, you'll wear multiple hats - product owner, scrum master, and coach - ensuring smooth delivery of features while facilitating collaboration between engineering, product, and design teams across two development squads.What You'll DoAct as product owner, scrum master, and agile coach for multiple engineering squadsFacilitate daily standups and bi-weekly sprint planning sessionsCoordinate release schedules and feature deployments across squadsWork with Product Managers and Designers to refine requirements and user storiesMeet regularly with Director of Engineering and Staff Engineers on strategic planningManage project timelines, dependencies, and roadmap communicationTrack progress in Jira and ensure clear visibility into development statusRemove blockers and facilitate communication between team membersCoach engineers and teams on agile best practices and processesCoordinate with QA Engineers on testing timelines and release readinessBridge communication between engineering and other departmentsWho You'll Work WithReport directly to the Director of EngineeringSupport two or more squads totaling 12+ engineers, 2 QA Engineers, and 2 Staff EngineersMeet regularly with the Director of Engineering and Staff Engineers on strategyPartner daily with Product Managers and Designers on requirements and prioritiesCollaborate with the leadership team on company-wide initiativesCoordinate across distributed team members in North and South AmericaWhat We're Looking ForProven experience as a project manager, scrum master, or agile coachStrong understanding of software development lifecycles and agile methodologiesExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to facilitate meetings and drive consensus among stakeholdersStrong written and spoken English (professional Spanish is a plus)Experience managing remote and distributed teamsComfort with technical concepts and engineering workflowsExceptional communication skills across all levels of the organizationProactive problem-solving mindset with a focus on unblocking teamsExperience with Jira, agile tools, and software project trackingOur StackBackend: Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Redis, SidekiqFrontend: Hotwire (Turbo, Stimulus), React, Tailwind CSS, Material UIInfrastructure: Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, GitOpsTesting: Ruby & RSpec (unit/integration), Playwright (QA automation)Tools: Jira, Slack, Figma, Miro, Claude CoworkApproach: Trunk-based development, feature flags, daily deploys, two-week sprints, team retrospectives, risk assessmentsOnboarding & In-Office Expectations:Ability to work onsite at least three (3) days during the first week, followed by consistent weekly in-office presence throughout the first 90 days to support onboarding, training, and team integration.
