JOB SUMMARY: The Department of Mathematics at Greensboro College invites applications for an Assistant Professor position starting in the fall semester of 2026. The department offers BS degrees in mathematics, mathematics education, and data science. The successful candidate will teach a broad range of courses for both majors and the general student population while maintaining an active professional development program. Greensboro is part of the Piedmont Triad and is nicknamed the "Gate City" with good reason: it's a short trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west or a beach weekend to the east.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or Data Science (candidates finishing by Fall 2026 will be considered). Teaching Experience: Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate courses, including core data science topics such as statistics, data visualization, and machine learning. Commitment: Proven commitment to high academic standards and teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Instructional Breadth: Ability to teach a wide variety of upper-division mathematics and data science courses. Academic Engagement: Experience or interest in curriculum design, student recruitment, directing internships, and leading independent study projects. Research: Capacity to maintain an active professional development program.
