Position Type: Curriculum and Instruction/Instructional CoachDate Posted: 12/9/2025Location: West Harvey-Dixmoor 147 Administrative OfficesDate Available: 01/05/2026Closing Date: 12/29/2025District: West Harvey-Dixmoor School District #147JOB TITLE: INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT COORDINATOR The Instructional Support Coordinator is responsible for organizing, aligning, and sustaining the systems and supports within the District's Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and Teacher Mentoring (Induction) Program. This role ensures that student needs are proactively identified, supported with evidence-based interventions, and monitored consistently. The Instructional Support Coordinator also collaborates with district staff and building administrators on mentor recruitment, screening, training, and matching, as well as facilitating ongoing relationship development, managing data collection, and evaluating the mentoring program. POSITION LEVEL: DISTRICT ADMINISTRATOR REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM, INSTRUCTION, AND ASSESSMENT JOB GOAL: To provide comprehensive support and assistance in the implementation and establishment of the district-wide MTSS framework and Teacher Mentoring Program at West Harvey-Dximoor School District 147. CO-SUPERVISES: Interventionists QUALIFICATIONS: Education: A master's degree in Education is preferred. Certification: Valid standard professional educator license (PEL) issued by the Illinois State Board of Education. Endorsements in reading and/or mathematics are preferred. Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of K-12 teaching experience. Experience organizing and implementing MTSS. Proficiency in disaggregating, interpreting, and analyzing assessment data. Experience in training and supervising educators and paraprofessionals preferred. Skills & Abilities: Extensive knowledge of MTSS research and best practices. Knowledge and experience with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), particularly for academic support and intervention in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional well-being. Strong background and thorough knowledge of the Common Core State Standards in ELA/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy. Ability to modify instruction to meet students' needs. Ability to cooperate with the district administrators, school faculty, and building leaders in the development and implementation of effective MTSS and Teacher Mentoring programs. Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district. This individual shall also possess the personal characteristics necessary to work collaboratively with internal staff within the district. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data effectively. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: MTSS Model Development & Implementation: Lead MTSS team meetings in coordination with building administrators to ensure Tier 1/Tier 2 and intervention programming is implemented effectively. Analyze individual student needs and identify appropriate targeted interventions. Assist in monitoring the fidelity of implementation of MTSS at the school level, including both academic and behavior support systems. Assist in monitoring the referral and intervention process to ensure compliance and adherence to district procedures, state guidelines, and federal regulations. Assist school faculty and administrators in analyzing student needs and linking student needs to appropriate interventions. Align the MTSS framework and philosophy with the district's mission, vision, and other initiatives. Compile, maintain, and review data to ensure the effectiveness of interventions. Communicate with stakeholders during all stages of the MTSS process, including the creation of timelines, goals, outcomes, topics, and the formats of all tiered meetings. Develop and maintain a positive rapport with families and staff. Provide training, consultation, and support to teachers, interventionists, and school-based teams to facilitate implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) at the district and school levels. Assistance activities include observation and feedback, modeling, interpreting data, and other supportive assistance necessary to implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports. Plan and facilitate intervention groups with students, particularly in reading and/or mathematics. Mentoring Program Coordination & Support: Build and operationalize a mentor recruitment strategy. Lead monthly mentor trainings, cultivate partnerships to increase training capacity, and design ongoing training opportunities. Maintain primary responsibility for overseeing mentoring pairs. This includes proactive mentor and mentee check-ins, providing issue-based support, problem-solving, and connecting mentor pairs to additional resources when necessary. Maintain mentoring program records. Assist in collecting and submitting required paperwork to ensure timely payments to participating staff. Plan events at least quarterly to build the community of mentoring pairs. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, Assistant Superintendent, or Superintendent of Schools. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Confidential; 10-month position. EVALUATION: Evaluated annually by the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. SALARY: $65,000 WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Health examination for new employees, part-time or full-time: Chapter 122 Article 24-5 of the Illinois School Code mandates that School Boards shall require new employees to provide evidence of physical fitness to perform duties assigned and freedom from communicable disease, including tuberculosis. Such evidence shall consist of a physical examination, a tuberculin test, and, if appropriate, an X-ray. The cost of such examination shall rest with the employee. Must have a physical examination before employment. Must pass a comprehensive drug screening. Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
