Job DescriptionReal Estate & Land Use Legal Assistant / Secretary Our client is seeking a skilled Legal Assistant/Secretary to support their Real Estate, Land Use & Litigation attorneys. This position is 90% transactional legal support for the Real Estate and Land Use teams. Some litigation support will be required, but minimal. Prior Real Estate/Land Use experience is required.ResponsibilitiesReal Estate & Land UseSupport residential and commercial purchase/sale and leasing agreements, including easementsCoordinate signings, notary services, and recordingsAssist with Public Records Act requests, ACCELA permitting, zoning and mapping researchConduct property information searches (e.g., TitlePro)AdministrativeManage attorney calendars; coordinate meetings, hearings, closings, and public meetingsPrepare, format, and proofread correspondence, memoranda, and pleadingsOpen new matters, maintain client files, and ensure document controlPrepare engagement letters, run conflict checks, and track deadlinesAssist with time entry and LEDES billingCommunicate professionally with clients, agencies, consultants, and opposing counselEducation & ExperienceMinimum 3 years of experience in a law firm (real estate and/or litigation; multi-practice support a plus)Familiarity with court rules and e-filing (state and federal), land use/CEQA workflows, and real estate transaction processesProficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); WordPerfect a plusExperience with document management systems (Prolaw, Essential Forms, CAR Forms, DocuSign), e-filing portals, and e-billing (LEDES/Sage Timeslips) All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
