Position DetailsPosition Information Position Title Digital Technician Assistant, ITS - $9.50/hour Position Type Student Number of Open Positions 2 Department Tech Support & Educ Tech Svcs (2836) Campus Main Campus (Grantham) Supervisor Lew Gladfelter Work Period Acad Yr 2025-26 Hours Per Week 10 Duration of Appointment Fall, Spring Work Schedule Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am to 5pmPosition Description Position Summary The Digital Technician Assistant troubleshoots and supports PC and Mac needs (students and staff), both hardware and software; supports students and staff in person, via email and on the phone; troubleshoots and repairs classroom and lab PC and Mac equipment and completes required documentation.Major PreferredExperience Required Basic computer experience required. Basic knowledge of multiple operating systems and configuration is preferred. Some hardware knowledge is required.Experience PreferredSkills, Characteristics Required for Position Outgoing, friendly personalityGood customer service skillsAble to work on multiple projects at one timeAbility to work well within a team and effectively share new knowledge with othersBasic PC hardware and software knowledgeWillingness to learn new technologies and troubleshooting practices, and share new knowledge with othersGood communication skills, both oral and writtenDress Code Requirements All students are expected to have a neat and clean appearance. No cutoffs or torn pants/shirts are permitted.Special Working Conditions Be able to lift 60 poundsBackground Check Required No Primary Duties 1. Answer and assist help line phone calls in a pleasant manner2. Submit and respond to RT tickets3. Troubleshoot, support and resolve hardware and software on PCs and Macs (student, staff, lab, classroom) under the guidance of a Tech Support, Tier II Technician4. Troubleshoot and/or replace AV equipment as needed5. Re-image laptops6. Be on call as assigned - Responsible for evening classroom support (hardware and software)7. Effectively communicate with clients (employees and students)8. Complete research as requested to support and extend department's knowledge base9.
