Independence Tooling is actively seeking a CNC Programmer to join our team!ResponsibilitiesPlan machining operations by reviewing work orders, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.Review and interpret 3D CAD models to determine machining strategy, tool paths, and material removal processes.Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning, and other machining operations using CAM software.Determine machining sequences, tooling requirements, fixtures, and cutting parameters to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.Convert engineering and design specifications into Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) programs.Perform calculations to establish proper speeds, feeds, and cutting paths to maximize efficiency and maintain tight tolerances.Test, validate, and revise CNC programs as needed to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and ensure production accuracy.Qualifications3 plus years of experience with CNC programmingProgramming experience in WorkNC, Mastercam, PowerMill, or NX CAMFamiliar with the 3 and 5 Axis modules as wellExperience with Fanuc, Haas, Fidia or Heidenhain controllersStrong ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and 3D CAD modelsKnowledge of CNC milling and/pr turning processes, tooling, fixtures, and machining parametersPreferred QualificationsExperience in aerospace, automotive or defense is a plusBenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision InsuranceVacation and Holiday payEmployer matching 401KHybrid work schedule after 90 days for eligible positionsTuition ReimbursementFlexible Spending Programs (FSAs)Short-Term & Long-Term Disability insuranceEmployee Referral ProgramAdditional Voluntary Benefit ProgramsOff-site company events & Employee LuncheonsWho are we?Founded in 1957 and proudly 100% U.S.-owned, Waltonen has deep roots in Warren, Michigan, and a strong commitment to supporting our local community.
