Staff Accountant I Location: San Antonio, Texas | Downtown | Hybrid My client is looking for a Staff Accountant to serve as a key partner to the development team by owning the accounting and financial reporting for active projects from pre-development through closeout. This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys digging into details, understanding how projects are built financially, and turning data into clear, actionable insights. What You Will Do as a Staff Accountant Take ownership of project-level general ledger activity and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in the proper period Prepare and analyze monthly project financials, highlighting variances, trends, and items that require further discussion Partner with development and operations teams to understand project activity and resolve accounting questions Perform budget vs. actual analysis and provide clear explanations for changes in costs and timing Support month-end close by preparing accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules Track project costs, commitments, and funding sources to ensure alignment with budgets and financing structures Assist with construction draws, pay applications, and lender reporting requirements What My Client Is Looking for in a Staff Accountant Bachelor's degree in Accounting is a must 3-4 years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close Comfortable working in Excel and building / maintaining schedules Experience in real estate or construction environments is a plus #DevelopmentAccountant, #ProjectAccounting, #RealEstateAccounting, #ConstructionAccounting, #AccountingJobs, #FinanceJobs, #StaffAccountant, #SeniorAccountant, #AccountingCareers, #AccountingProfessionals Click here to apply online EB-1947093969
