Job Description: The Assistant Director supports and expands the reach of the CSJ Institute, the function of which is to advance and sustain the CSJ commitment to serve all persons without distinction, to respond to the needs of the times, and to prepare fearless visionaries for a just future. The CSJ Institute serves as the mission education and integration function of the University.Work Location: Doheny Campus (Downtown Los Angeles) and Chalon Campus (West Los Angeles)Start Date: Immediately Application Deadline: Open until filledAnnual Salary Rate: $70,304.00Monthly Salary Rate: $5,858.67Duties and Responsibilities:1. Creates and provides presentations, trainings, reflections and orientations for all MSMU constituents, with a strong emphasis on student outreach, on the history, legacy, mission and charism of our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph.a. Classroom presentations in a variety of academic programsb. New student orientation, student leadership workshopsc. Staff and faculty orientations and developmentd. Admissions events, including Admitted Students Day and Le Puy Scholars Interviewse. Promote student research opportunities2. Provides formation, service and community building experiences in CSJ traditions for MSMU students and other Mount constituenciesa. Assist in facilitation of pilgrimages for faculty, staff and students to France, Tucson, etc.b. Develop experiences of "sharing the state of the heart" and other CSJ spiritual practicesc. Promote presence of sisters (CSJs) on campuses and at their residences, offering opportunities for relationship and community with MSMU community.d. Develops and offers programs of reflection and engagement with Alumnae3. Develops and executes marketing and communication for the Institute, including active social media, publicity for events, and educational displaysa. Ongoing promotion through Instagram and Facebookb. Flyers, announcements, newslettersc. Educational bulletin boards on both campuses; tabling exhibitsd. Quarterly resource email (Constant Contact)4. Manages events for the Institutea. Liaison to facilities, catering, events, IT and graphicsb. Collaborate with other departments on such programs as CSJ Weekc. With Senior Director, plan programs for Spirit of the Founders, Founder's Day, St. Joseph's Day, Open House, Dia de los Muertos, etc.5. Supervises student employeesa. Archives and digitization projectsb. Social media and communicationsc. Program support6. Assists senior director with building local relationships, including CSJs and sponsored ministries, as well as the broader CSSJ community, including the ACSSJ, high school association, St. Joseph's Educational Ministries and U.S. Federation7. Develops other programs and resources as needed to support the purpose of the Institute and advance its strategic planOther Duties and Responsibilities:Weekend and evening presentations, including for Weekend/Evening College, Admissions, etc.Requires occasional travel between campusesRequires occasional travel for conferences, pilgrimages, and meetings at other ministry sites, both domestic and internationalPerform other job-related duties, as assigned Requirements: Knowledge: Deep, demonstrable understanding of the CSJ charism. Knowledge of formation, facilitation, and retreat processes.Knowledge of Catholic tradition, spirituality and education.Abilities and Skills: Teaching, facilitation and/or training skills.Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and audiences (from students to sisters to Trustees).Strong relationship building, collaboration and interpersonal skills.Strong written and oral communication.Ability to utilize multiple software programs, including: Office 365; Canva; social media; video and photographyHighly organized and detail oriented; able to manage multiple projectsAbility to work without constant supervisionEducation: Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred).Experience: 1-2 years' experience sharing Catholic theology, spirituality and Catholic Social Teaching, such as classroom teaching, parish or campus ministry experience.Minimum of 3-5 years' experience coordinating communication, outreach and programs.Event planning, workshop and retreat facilitation experience required.Track record of public speaking, teaching and/or training required.
