We follow a common PATH of being Passionate, Authentic, Trustworthy, & Hardworking.Job Summary:The Property Accountant will oversee the full-cycle accounting for properties in the portfolio that are managed by Highlands Vista Group Management. This includes all aspects of accounting support for a portfolio of 8-12 properties. The ideal candidate has a strong mindset for partnership with operational counterparts and the asset management team and takes a collaborative approach to the overall success of the organization. An ability to identify opportunities to drive improvements and efficiencies is critical to this role.Key Responsibilities:Analyze various transactions and identify appropriate accounting treatmentPrepare journal entries and maintain the general ledgerReconcile monthly banks statements to the general ledgerRecord and process accounts payable and accounts receivableProcess cash receipts and prepare bank depositsPrepare tax and insurance amortization, accruals, and reconciliationsMonitor daily cash balancesProcess debt service paymentsAssist management with special projects and other tasksOpen communication with property managers, regional managers, analysts, asset managers, controller, and principal.Has a "can do" productive self-motivated attitude, demonstrates proactiveness and suggests improved processesFlexible and adaptive in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentResponsible for completion of ad-hoc investor, lender, and other requests as neededDesired Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:2-5 years of experience in accounting or real estate accounting, preferably multifamilyBachelor's degree in Accounting or commensurate experienceExcellent interpersonal skills with a strong prioritization of customer serviceHighly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple projectsYardi software experience preferredExcellent analytical and quantitative skillsExceptional attention to detailAbility to interpret, analyze, articulate, and compile financial reportsStrong problem-solving skillsSelf-starter comfortable working in an environment with evolving roles and responsibilitiesStrong communication skills with the ability to interact with various internal and external partiesHigh proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and WordKnowledge of banking systems including ACH and wires
