Position DetailsPosting Summary Position Title Assistant Professor of Marketing Status Tenure Track Overview St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master's and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. The campus is situated on 164 park-like acres-a beautiful setting for a warm, friendly campus community.Job Responsibilities The School of Business seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Marketing to begin Fall 2026. This position carries a 3-3 teaching load and involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses across multiple modalities (in-person, online, and hybrid). The School embraces a teacher-scholar model and prides itself on a high-touch approach. Faculty are expected to contribute meaningfully across research, teaching, and service while actively engaging with students and the broader Fisher community.The candidate will have the following responsibilities:Teach undergraduate and graduate marketing courses; assess student learning and progress.Maintain an active research agenda and produce original, discipline-based publications in peer-reviewed journals listed in ABDC or Cabell's, in alignment with AACSB "Scholarly Academic" standards.Advise and mentor students and support recruitment and retention efforts.Adopt new teaching techniques and engage students through interactive methods, experiential learning, and other innovative instructional practices.Contribute to the development and improvement of courses, programs, and School initiatives.Collaborate with faculty, staff, alumni, and the business community to advance the School's mission.Provide service to the Department, School, University, profession, and broader community, and share expertise through scholarly and professional outlets.Education / Experience Required QualificationsProof of permanent right to work in the US on first day of employment.A terminal degree in marketing or related field from an accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered if the degree will be completed by August 2026.Demonstrated potential to publish in discipline-based peer-reviewed journals listed in ABDC or Cabell's.Preferred ExperiencesPublications in peer-reviewed journals.Professional experience in related fields of business.Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses.Experience incorporating data analytics into courses.Preference will be given to candidates with teaching or professional experience in one or more of the following areas: sales, CRM, business analytics, social media, digital marketing, branding, buyer behavior, supply chain, or services marketing.Competencies / Skills Essential competencies and skills include:Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.A strong commitment to teaching excellence, student advising and mentoring.Ongoing professional development in pedagogy and instructional innovation.Passion for engaging with students and a strong focus on positively impacting their professional development.Ability to connect with the business community to advance the visibility and success of the school.Proficiency in technology (e.g., AI, analytics tools, instructional technologies, etc.)Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
