Chiller Technician

Mobile Air & Power Rentals provides innovative cooling, heating, dehumidification, and power solutions to customers nationwide. Our rental fleet includes portable air conditioners, chillers, heaters, and generators that support critical operations across a wide range of industries.We are seeking Chiller Technicians at all levels (Entry Level, Technician, and Senior) to support the maintenance, testing, installation, and repair of our large-tonnage chiller and HVAC rental fleet. Responsibilities and expectations increase based on experience level.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAll Levels:Troubleshoot, maintain, test, and repair chiller and large-tonnage air conditioning equipmentAssist with refurbishment, reconditioning, and preparation of rental equipmentPerform equipment start-ups and pre-deployment testingComplete service, testing, and repair documentation accuratelyFollow all safety procedures and PPE requirementsSupport depot, shop, and field operations as neededPerform other duties as assignedAdditional Responsibilities by Level:Entry Level Chiller TechnicianAssist senior technicians with diagnostics, repairs, and testingSupport fabrication and customization of rental equipmentOperate shop equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and saws with training and certificationOccasional travel to customer sites during peak seasonsChiller Technician (Mid-Level)Independently diagnose and repair chiller and HVAC equipmentSupport turnkey installations and job-site start-upsTravel to customer sites for complex installations and service workIdentify and recommend process improvements related to safety, quality, and efficiencySenior Chiller TechnicianServe as technical expert for chiller and large-tonnage HVAC equipmentPerform advanced diagnostics and complex repairsLead pre-deployment testing and quality assuranceMentor and train junior technicians and service techniciansSupport fleet upgrades, remote monitoring initiatives, and turnkey installationsQualificationsEducation & Certifications:High school diploma or GED requiredHVAC or Refrigeration degree or technical certificate preferred for higher-level rolesUniversal EPA Refrigeration Certification requiredExperience (Varies by Level):Entry Level: 1-2+ years of HVAC or mechanical experienceChiller Technician: 3-7+ years of HVAC experience with chiller exposureSenior Chiller Technician: 5-7+ years of hands-on large-tonnage chiller experienceSkills & Abilities:Strong knowledge of refrigerant systems and HVAC best practicesAbility to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manualsBasic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office; ERP or rental software preferred)Forklift certification required; crane operation experience preferredStrong communication, organizational, and teamwork skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs using safe lifting practicesWork Environment & ScheduleThis position may require travel, overtime, evenings, weekends, and holiday availability during peak seasonsRotating or on-call schedules may apply depending on role and locationBenefitsCompetitive hourly pay based on level and experienceBonus opportunitiesMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife Insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off (vacation, sick time, and holidays)Training, career development, and advancement opportunitiesEmployee discount programs
