The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with manual machining, can consistently hold tight tolerances (±0.001" or better), and thrives working independently with minimal supervision in a high-precision environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate a manual horizontal lathe to machine metal components to exact print specificationsPerform complete machine setups, including tooling selection, alignment, and speed/feed adjustmentsBore soft jaws and modify fixturing for unique setupsMaintain tolerance requirements of ±0.001" or tighterInspect and verify parts using micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instrumentsRead and interpret detailed blueprints and engineering drawingsCollaborate with team leads, engineers, and quality personnel to troubleshoot machining challengesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentQualifications2+ years of experience operating a manual horizontal lathe in a precision machining environmentProven ability to consistently hold tight tolerancesStrong blueprint reading skillsProficient with precision measuring toolsAbility to independently complete setups and troubleshoot issuesMust own personal tools, including indicators and general hand toolsStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detailReliable, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
