Job Type Full-timeDescriptionThe Field Service Technician is a critical member of our installation team. This is a field-based, customer-facing role that is responsible for installing SpectrumVoIP's equipment at our customer sites. The Field Service Technician will be provided with a company van and will travel daily to client sites to perform installations, maintenance, and support services. This role requires regular physical activity, including climbing ladders, pulling and routing cabling, and lifting or moving equipment weighing between 10 and 50 pounds. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong customer service skills, professionalism in client-facing environments, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSInteract with customers as the front line of the companyEthernet cabling installation and terminationInstallation of VoIP hardware including phones and analog gatewaysInstallation of paging equipmentInstallation or reconfiguration of network routers, firewalls, and peripherals.Installation of door phone equipment.Installation of Camera Systems.Inventory Management Software-Manage inventory of equipmentProviding general product and service training to new customers.Follow safety guidelines for the area and all company policies and proceduresMaintain cleanliness and maintenance of company vehicleSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIESUnderstanding of TCP/IP networkingUnderstanding of ISP circuits and modems (Cable, DSL, T1, FIOS, etc.)Structured network cabling experienceWorking with analog POTS services on 66 and 110 blocksAbility to follow detailed installation documentation Ability to document all of your work and notating outstanding items.Ability to troubleshoot networked office systems e.g. scanners, printers, DVR's, cameras, etc.Strong communication skills and must be a team playerMust be organized, self-sufficient and capable of working with little or no supervisionMust be able to understand computer networking and network configurationsBENEFITS AND AMENITIESHealth & welfare benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision) eligible after 30 days100% Employer paid coverage for Employee Only HSA planAdditional ancillary benefit plansEmployee Assistance ProgramPaid Training / Expansive Learning Management System (LMS)Paid HolidaysPaid Sick LeavePaid Parental LeaveReferral ProgramFlexible PTO plan401K options & matchingRequirements High School diploma or equivalent. Technical training or degree4+ years' experience as a field service technician servicing commercial segmentsMust have valid driver's license with a clean driving record and no moving violations Familiarity with Mikrotik and Cisco routing/switching equipment a plusWorking with analog POTS services on 66 and 110 blocksMust be physically able and comfortable with climbing ladders up to 12ftAble to distinguish all colorsRelated certifications a plus: CCNA, N+, A+, BISCI, etc.The ability to travel, which may include overnight / weekend travel, is required. The ability to run CAT5e cable as well as terminate to CAT5e Jack, Patch Panel or crimp a mod end and test and troubleshooting cabling.Ability to work in outdoor environments and adapt to changing work conditions.May be required to get a Security License for the installation of camera systems.
