Tower is offering a $1000 Signing/Retaining bonus as of 1/20/2025. Note: All full-time positions include exceptionally low medical premiums in addition to a whole host of other benefits.HOURS FOR POSITION: Monday - Friday 8 hours per day for a 40 hour work week. Minimum of three days per week onsite. Hiring Range - $154,888 - $193,611Summary of PositionThe AVP, IT Architecture is a supervisory and strategic leadership role responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the credit union's enterprise architecture framework. This position develops and champions standardized processes, technology roadmaps, and architectural principles that align with business objectives, ensure operational resilience, and drive digital transformation. The AVP serves as the chief architect and primary advocate for architectural excellence across the organization.Principal Accountabilities and FunctionsEstablishes and enforces architecture governance frameworks, standards, policies, and review processes (e.g., Architecture Review Board).Develops multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with credit union strategic goals, member experience priorities, and regulatory requirements (NCUA, FFIEC, etc.).Designs and maintains a comprehensive enterprise architecture strategy encompassing business, data, application, technology, and security domains.Leads the creation, documentation, and adoption of standardized processes for solution design, integration, vendor evaluation, and technology lifecycle management.Champions adoption of best-practice frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, or hybrid models tailored to credit union needs).Collaborates closely with ITS AVPs, Information Security, and business unit leaders to translate business capabilities into scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology solutions.Evaluates emerging technologies (cloud, AI/ML, core modernization, open banking APIs, etc.) for strategic fit, risk, and ROI.Builds and leads a high-performing enterprise architecture team (architects, domain specialists, analysts).Mentors architects and promotes a culture of architectural thinking across ITS and the enterprise.Manages vendor relationships for architecture tools, modeling platforms, and consulting services.Cultivates strong partnerships with key service stakeholders (internal and external).Manages department budget, accurately forecasting, tracking and managing financial resources.Actively engages team through regular 1:1s, team meetings, performance reviews, and coaching and mentoring.Serves on the Information Technology Steering Committee, Information Security Governance Committee, Technology Advisory Group.Required QualificationsBachelor's or master's degree in information systems or related field with 5 years relevant work experience.Without a degree, at least 10 years directly applicable relevant leadership and work experience plus relevant technical certificationsMinimum 5 years effective experience in leading technical staff and information technology operationsTOGAF, Zachman, ArchiMate, or equivalent architecture certification, upon hire or within 6 months of hireHands-on leadership of IT projects of moderate complexity with organization-wide impact; proficient in waterfall and/or Agile methodologies.Proven track record leading architecture governance and process standardization in mid-sized organization.Experience with core banking systems, integration platforms, cloud migrations, and API ecosystems.Experience in enterprise architecture modeling toolsExperience with regulatory frameworks (NCUA, FFIEC, PCI-DSS, GDPR)Experience managing a departmental budget - including forecasting and tracking Or equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to present ideas/concepts and interact effectively with technical and non-technical users at all organizational levelsDemonstrated success building partnership between the technology organization and business stake holdersAbility to document processes and workflows, develop reports, business correspondence, and procedures for a diverse audience using common tools such as Visio, and other MS Office productsAbility to manage, coach and mentor employeesAbility to manage and prioritize effectively and resolve conflicting priorities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with the ability to summarize detailed information to make actionable recommendationsAbility to allocate and manage resources effectively within budget parametersAbility to provide constructive feedback to othersAble to interact effectively and professionally with colleagues and supervisorsHas knowledge of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures and all regulations related to the bank Secrecy Act, the USA Patriot Act and OFAC.Working ConditionsAbility to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 4-6 hours per day, when necessary.Ability to work the hours needed which may extend beyond the defined work schedule when operating conditions dictate.Ability to travel independently and directly to other TFCU facilities, in compliance with ADAAbility to work the hours needed which may extend beyond the defined work schedule when operating conditions dictate.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., with or without assistance, in compliance with ADA.+ Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
