QED has an opportunity for you to make a difference in people's lives all while learning from industry leaders and medical device engineers.JOB SUMMARYA Mechanical Engineer Co-op role is an educational opportunity for an Engineering student to work alongside senior engineers in the design and development of mechanical components and solutions for RF Coils utilized in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). This role will be responsible for individual and team assignments and will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, manufacture and service complex MRI systems and components throughout all phases of the product development life cycle.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist in the Mechanical design and analysis of RF coilsVerification and validation of mechanical design, including supporting engineering builds and testingFailure analysis of mechanical componentsExposure to manufacturing processes, including 3D printingQUALIFICATIONSEducation and ExperienceRequiredCurrently Enrolled pursuing a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Related FieldExperience with Mechanical Design and use of SolidWorks or equivalent PreferredPrior professional internships, relevant lab or university experience a plusSkills and AbilitiesRequiredBasic knowledge in using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D Solid modelling software Skills in MS Office, Outlook, Internet, etc.Clear written and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to learn quickly and multitask
