About the Facility: Our well-established nursing home in West Rogers Park is committed to providing exceptional care and a safe, comfortable environment for our residents and staff. We're currently seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Maintenance Director to lead our facility's maintenance operations and ensure the building systems are functioning at the highest standard. Position Summary: The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance of the facility, including its buildings, grounds, equipment, and safety systems. This role is essential in creating a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and perform routine and preventive maintenance on facility systems (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.) Ensure the physical plant is maintained in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies Oversee a small maintenance team and coordinate daily work schedules Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and inspections Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and resolve safety hazards Collaborate with the Administrator and department heads to support operational needs Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in building maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting Supervisory experience required Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to urgent maintenance needs effectively Knowledge of OSHA, Life Safety Code, and applicable building codes High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications a plus Must be able to lift, bend, climb ladders, and work on your feet for extended periods Benefits: Competitive pay based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays 401(k) with employer contribution Supportive team environment Equal Opportunity Employer
