Title: Maintenance Spare Parts Technician Pay Rate Range: $32.00 - $37.00/hr. (DOE) Employment Type: Contract - 12 months (extension possible) Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Location: Hickory, NC (100% Onsite - local candidates only) Job Code: CRNGJP00029196Job Overview Tekberry is seeking a Maintenance Spare Parts Technician to support maintenance reliability and inventory optimization efforts for our client, a global leader in advanced materials and manufacturing technologies. This role focuses on developing and maintaining an effective spare parts management program to support equipment uptime and reduce maintenance-related downtime. The technician will collaborate closely with maintenance, reliability, and procurement teams to identify critical spare parts, improve asset documentation, and align inventory levels with equipment criticality. The position combines field work with data management, requiring both hands-on understanding of industrial equipment and the ability to organize and maintain accurate technical inventory records. Responsibilities Spare Parts Program Development • Identify critical production assets and determine minimum spare parts requirements • Develop initial spare parts lists for high-priority equipment based on downtime risk and operational impact • Capture spare parts used on maintenance work orders and associate them with asset records within CMMS systems • Conduct field inspections to verify spare parts information when documentation is incomplete Spare Parts Data Optimization • Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for critical equipment including motors, pumps, and gearboxes • Identify long lead-time components and support appropriate stocking strategies • Standardize common spare parts across similar equipment where applicable • Validate parts information with maintenance technicians and incorporate operational knowledge Inventory Improvement & Program Sustainability • Support development of a criticality-based spare parts stocking strategy • Classify parts into categories such as critical spares, operational spares, non-critical spares, and obsolete parts • Identify redundant, obsolete, or superseded parts and recommend improvements • Participate in regular reviews of spare parts usage, inventory accuracy, and stocking levels • Help establish documentation standards for new and existing equipment assets Must-Have Qualifications• Experience in maintenance, storeroom operations, industrial inventory management, or manufacturing operations • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical spare parts used in industrial equipment • Experience working with CMMS or EAM systems and maintenance work orders • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage technical data and documentation • Ability to work cross-functionally with maintenance, reliability, and procurement teams • Comfortable performing both field verification work and system-based documentation tasks Preferred Qualifications• Experience building or maintaining equipment Bills of Materials (BOMs) • Background in manufacturing, industrial processing, utilities, or heavy industry environments • Understanding of spare parts criticality and maintenance reliability strategies • Experience supporting maintenance or reliability programs within manufacturing facilities Work Environment• 100% onsite in Hickory, NC • Standard Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) • Combination of field inspections and system-based documentation work • Interaction with maintenance technicians, engineering teams, and procurement personnel Why Tekberry We need hard-working, reliable employees who want to contribute to meaningful engineering and manufacturing operations.
