Substitute TeacherMill Springs Academy of Alpharetta, GA, a college-prep school serving non-traditional learners, invites applications for Substitute teachers. The Substitute Teacher for neurodivergent students provides temporary instructional support for students with diverse neurodevelopmental profiles, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences. This role requires adaptability, patience, and an understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and sensory, communication, and behavioral needs.ResponsibilitiesDeliver pre-planned lessons and activities in alignment with each student's IEP or individualized learning goals.Support classroom routines and behavioral management strategies tailored to neurodivergent students.Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet diverse learning styles and sensory needs.Provide one-on-one or small group support as required.Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and engagement, communicating observations to the lead teacher or special education coordinator.Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.Collaborate with other staff, therapists, and support personnel to ensure consistency in interventions and accommodations.Follow all school policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events (when required)Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesBachelor's degree in education, special education, or related field preferred.Experience working with neurodivergent students or in special education settings.Knowledge of individualized teaching strategies, behavior management, and sensory accommodations.Strong communication, empathy, and flexibility skills.Patience, creativity, and problem-solving ability in dynamic classroom situations.Familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans, and related documentation.Proficiency in integrating technology and assistive tools into the classroom.A commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
