As an Associate Technical Designer, you'll play a key role in transforming creative concepts into production-ready garments. You'll partner closely with Design, Product Development, and our global factory partners to ensure fit, function, and quality meet Royal Robbins' standards season after season. If you're detail-driven, collaborative, and excited by the craft of apparel construction, this is a chance to grow your technical design career within a purpose-led outdoor brand.WHAT YOU WILL DOTechnical Design Fit & ExecutionSupport the Technical Design Manager in executing design and fit intent while maintaining construction standards, brand integrity, and margin objectivesPrepare garments for fit sessions by measuring samples, documenting findings, and reviewing commentsParticipate in fit sessions and collaborate on solutions that improve fit, function, and manufacturabilityTrack and monitor seasonal fits using established tracking toolsProduct Development & DocumentationManage carry-over product technical packages seasonally, ensuring specifications, measurements, and construction details remain accurate and up to date in PLMEnsure all tech pack documentation is complete, accurate, and production readyEffectively communicate updates and resolve questions with factories and cross-functional partners3D & Digital ToolsUpdate and maintain the seasonal 3D sample library in CLO3D to support early-stage prototyping and developmentProcess, Organization, & CollaborationAttend weekly WIP meetings to help maintain production timelines and seasonal deadlinesOrganize and maintain fit samples, records, libraries, and tools within the Technical Design workspaceSchedule and coordinate with fit modelsParticipate in team, departmental, and company meetings as neededWHAT YOU BRINGEducation in a relevant field such as Pattern Making, Fashion Design, or Textiles2+ years of technical design experience in the apparel industryHands-on experience working in PLM systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, and PhotoshopWorking knowledge of CLO3D or similar 3D apparel design softwareFoundational understanding of patternmaking, garment fit, construction, and engineering across key apparel categoriesFabric, trim, and construction knowledge with the ability to apply it to fit and functionalityClear, accurate written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate across cultures and time zonesA collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with strong attention to detailComfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentAdaptability and willingness to evolve with business needsPreferred (but not required)Experience in the outdoor or lifestyle apparel industryPassion for the outdoors, adventure, and sustainable product designWHAT WE OFFERClick here to learn more about Fenix Outdoor's full range of benefits, including401(k) with employer matchPaid Time OffMedical, dental, vision, critical illness, and accident insuranceProduct discounts and access to our outdoor eventsIndustry discounts and more...ABOUT USRoyal Robbins is an outdoor apparel brand inspired by the spirit of climbing pioneers Royal and Liz Robbins.
