Job Title: Quality Specialist - ChemistryJob Description The Raw Material Analytical Chemist will primarily focus on raw material sampling and will also be responsible for prioritizing a variety of daily testing on raw materials. This role reviews compounding and laboratory records for accuracy and completeness, and handles out of spec (OOS) or out of trend (OOT) results, including implementation of corrective actions as directed by leadership. Responsibilities + Perform laboratory analysis on incoming raw materials per established procedures, including complex wet chemistry, TOC, GC, and HPLC. + Demonstrate knowledge of TOC, HPLC, and GC reagent preparation and maintenance. + Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment at all times. + Coordinate information flow within the laboratory and to internal customers. + Access, input, and retrieve information from computer systems. + Routinely collect water samples and raw material samples. + Approve or reject raw materials for release. + Complete annual supplier validation testing on incoming raw materials. + Ensure laboratory documentation meets GMP standards for completeness and accuracy. + Document and report any deviations in test procedures. + Be familiar with procedures, manufacturing processes, workflow, retain program, and documentation procedures. + Have working knowledge of various wet chemistry techniques, including complex manual titrations, identifications, and general reagent preparation. Essential Skills + Strong multi-tasking ability and able to prioritize or re-prioritize based on changing needs. + Effective communication with compounding leadership and escalation when needed. + Confidence to work independently without constant supervision. + Ability to thrive in a high-throughput environment with repetitive testing. + Good teamwork and communication on off shifts. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Chemistry or related science. + 2+ years of Quality Control experience in a laboratory environment preferred. + Solid wet chemistry knowledge is required. + Experience with complex manual titrations, TOC, RI, density, and pH is strongly preferred. + Understanding of FDA regulations and GMP/GDP is preferred. + Technical skills, including understanding of computer systems, LIMS, and Microsoft Office Suite. Work Environment Work in a clean lab setting primarily with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor for samples. Interact frequently with production workers, mechanics, engineers, and QA. The facility focuses on manufacturing various finished products, operating like a raw materials/in-process lab with a high throughput of quality testing. The position is Monday to Friday, 1st Shift, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch. The team consists of 1-2 other analysts in the chemistry group. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
