The ideal candidate will handle tasks such as strapping pipes, nail plating, running condensation lines, gluing pipe, and installing PEX lines.Technical Responsibilities:Cast Iron Waste Lines (using bands and snap cutters)ABS Drain Lines (using pipe cutters and glue)Copper water lines (measure, cut, clean, flux, and solder)CPVC water lines (measure, ream, glue)Black iron gas lines (layout, measure, install)PEX water lines (cut pipe, use fitting expander)Own basic plumbing tools and battery-operated tools (power tools provided)Transport issued tools, including ladders, from job site to job siteOperate threading machines, drills, and SawzallsLift and carry materials over 80 lbsKnowledge of local codes for installation is a plusApply Lean Principles including 5SPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and managementBehavioral Responsibilities of the JobSelf-motivated and organized with a positive attitudeDesire to learn and master plumbing installationAbility to work independently and collaborativelyCommitted to a positive workplace cultureProvide excellent customer service and communicationWillingness to work outdoors and with handsArrive on time and ready to workFollow safety procedures diligentlyTake appropriate time for rest and meal breaksLimit personal cell phone use to emergencies or breaksSeek continuous improvement opportunitiesTraining/Certification:Prior construction or plumbing experience is a plusPEX Certification preferredEducation:High School Diploma or equivalentGraduation from an Apprenticeship Program is required for Journeyman levelWorking Conditions:Subject to extreme weather conditions (heat and cold)Job sites may be loud and dustyElevated work (up to 3 stories) may be requiredPhysical demands include climbing, stooping, bending, and crawlingPerformance Standards:Percentage of time spent in the field, traveling, or in meetings (varies)Use a Field Skills Matrix to meet job goals and expectationsCollaborate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and customersMeet deadlines set by the supervisorMaintain attendance and punctualityComplete daily timecardsAdhere to Lean requirementsCareer Advancement:Next Position: JourneymanSkills Required for Promotion:4-5 years of plumbing production install experienceOrganizational and leadership skillsStrong communication skills for interaction with superintendentsSkills for Promotion: 75% of the above skills are required; the remaining 25% will be taught on the job.Villara Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
