Junior Manual & Automation Engineer

Role: Junior Manual & Automation Engineer Location: Denver, CO (Onsite) Experience: 3–5 years Top Skills Required: Manual Testing (50%) Automation using TypeScript/JavaScript, Cucumber over Cypress (50%) SQL API & Front-End Test Automation QMetry or TestRail Java, JUnit Kafka, Splunk, Postman Responsibilities Responsible for designing and developing automated test scripts to support application testing. The automation developer performs analysis of manual test cases and functional requirements and determines the balance of test coverage to be automated for reuse. This person gathers information from the project team, designs, develops, unit tests, debugs, executes automated test cases, and prepares reports. The automation developer will document results and facilitate review meetings with project team stakeholders. The automation developer actively looks for solutions to automate test cases early in the test life cycle and works on projects of high complexity within one or more test/development environments. This person works on multiple programs/systems/applications as a project team member and/or lead. The automation developer is considered a subject matter expert in the area of test case automation. Requirements: • 5+ years of experience. • BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience. • Manual Testing, Test Planning, Test case creation for complex architecture application. • Performing regression testing within timeframe using manual/automation, provide sign-off and test-execution reports. • Being responsible for release testing. • Building front-end and back-end automation framework using TypeScript/JavaScript, Cucumber over Cypress. • Database schemas and querying tools. • Defect triage and re-testing. • Proficiency over SDLC. • Working with test management tool like Qmetry. • Critical thinker, ability to negotiate with key stakeholders and maintain positive attitude. • Defining and tracking quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status, ensuring defects are well-written and have all required diagnostic information to drive resolution. • Extensive experience with automation scripting with TypeScript/JavaScript, Cucumber over Cypress framework. • Understand existing automation and manual test cases quickly. • Perform in-depth analysis over logs using tools like Splunk. • Identify flaky test cases in automation and carry out maintenance. • Write test cases for new feature and provide coverage report. • Write robust script for new test cases.
