We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead development efforts for complex semiconductor processing equipment and related control systems. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to drive high-quality software delivery across global, cross-functional teams. You will manage a team of software engineers (local/remote), define strategy and roadmaps, and ensure the successful execution of software development for multiple product lines.Key Responsibilities:Manage a software engineering team of roughly 5-10 engineersStrengthen team capability through cross-training, mentorship, and structured developmentLead mid-size development projects (up to 5 engineers per team)Define and execute software development plans for assigned product linesDevelop and maintain product software roadmapsBalance project portfolios to maximize technical and business impactDrive standardization of development processes, tools, KPIs, and best practicesEnsure alignment and collaboration with global Software Directors, Product Management, Process Engineering, Platform Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and other stakeholdersMaintain a strong partnership with software quality teams to ensure first-time-right, high-quality releasesMeasure and maintain internal customer satisfactionProvide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to department-level process improvementsDesign, develop, and troubleshoot software for semiconductor equipment control systemsModify and improve existing software architecturesWrite, review, and maintain system specifications, software design documents, and test plansInvestigate internal/external issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and propose effective solutionsEvaluate and recommend new tools and technologies for department adoptionParticipate in system-level design discussionsSupport marketing with technical inputs for customer proposals and product specificationsProvide onsite support as needed, including installations, training, and troubleshootingCreate accurate development schedules and deliver to commitmentsSupport department operations through policy creation, process updates, and continuous improvement initiativesEducationBS degree in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.Advanced technical degree preferred.Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.Experience Requirements10+ years of software development experience, including:C++, C#, PythonWindows application developmentMulti-threaded and real-time systemsDevice drivers or interrupt-driven softwareMachine control systems in semiconductor or industrial automation environmentsStrong proficiency in Experience with software engineering tools including debuggers, source control, build systems, and text editorsAbility to read, analyze, and translate existing codeStrong system-level thinking-capable of understanding how new functionality fits into complex equipment architecturesAbility to interpret specifications, design documents, APIs, and interface requirementsAbility to evaluate and adopt new tools and technologies to improve development efficiencyPreferred experience:Windows Embedded OSGUI developmentData communication & networkingSemiconductor industry standards (SEMI, etc.)Apply today to be part of what's next.We make the tech that enables the chips in devices which improve lives around the world.
