Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer IV for a Contract with a client in Cupertino, CA. Candidate must have strong expertise in Abaqus‑based finite element modeling to build accurate, high‑quality simulation models for complex engineering problems. Rate Range: $87/hour to $89/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Mechanical Engineer IV job responsibilities include: * Develops detailed finite element models using Abaqus to simulate mechanical, structural, and thermal performance accurately. * Executes preprocessing tasks such as geometry cleanup, material definitions, meshing, and boundary condition setup. * Troubleshoots modeling issues and refines meshes to improve convergence, stability, and computational efficiency. * Utilizes NX CAD for preparing and importing clean geometries to support high‑quality FE model development. * Performs post‑processing of simulation results and interprets output to support engineering decision‑making. * Contributes to workflow improvements by applying best practices and staying updated with advancements in FEA tools and techniques. Required Qualifications: * Must have a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. * Candidate will have 3+ years of hands‑on experience in finite element modeling using Abaqus CAE. * Candidate must demonstrate strong proficiency in FE model preparation, meshing techniques, material modeling, and applying boundary conditions and loads. * Candidate must have working‑level experience with NX CAD for geometry preparation and familiarity with additional preprocessors such as ANSA or Hypermesh.
